The
Pays-de-la-Loire has a great deal to offer the holiday maker. An area
steeped in history from the earliest times The homeland of the
Plantagenet kings, Eleanor of Aquitaine was born in the south of the
Region and her son Richard the Lion Heart built his castle at Talmont.
Later kings enjoyed life along the Loire valley as did many nobles who
built those remarkable Chateaus that the Loire valley is so famous for.
The micro climate of the Vendee give us one of the sunniest regions in France which rivals the French Riviera, along with miles of sandy beaches ideal for those who enjoy being close to the sea. It is not difficult to see why this region of France is very popular not only with the French but with visiters from around the world.
Attractions of the Pays-de-la-Loire include the world renowned "Puy-du-fou" a grand spectacular in two parts. The grand Parc open daily through out the summer months, this educational/historical theme parc has probably the best falconry display in the world plus so much more it would take a whole website to explain. Children have repeatedly commented that it's better than Disney World. The Evening show on weekends is as spectacular.
But of course there is so much more to see and do in the Pays de la Loire.
