French-gites-holidays is one of a series of websites run to
promote the website of owners of French Gites, Cottages, Villas and holiday
accommodation.
Trevor Goverd who has run gites for 17 years started with his original website http://www.lagrange-gites-vendee.co.uk/ to promote his own gites. He realised a couple of years ago that if Gite owners got together and pooled their resourses then it would be possible for them as a group to succeed on the Net against the increasingly multinational companies dominance.
For those who remember when "Cheznous" was started and run by John Smith, how easy it was to communicate with them, it was like a family, Ideas were passed around and booking come in thick and fast. Since john sold out the sitation has changed and all the friends who advertised there have now left.
That concept again has started and we are now recruiting gite owners to participate. As we get bigger we hope to be able to start forums so that questions can be answered by well informed owners who have that wealth of knowledge.
The site is financed by company donations and by additional advertising such as "featured site" and google ads.
