Region of three distinct areas, to the north where the confluence of the river
Gironne and Dordogne enter the Gironde is a land of rolling hills. The middle
section, Flat plains within which is Europes largest pine forest and the Dune de
Pilat which is Europes largest dune. The coastal area includes the Cote d'Argent
and the Bassin d'Arcachon
The Southern area has the Pyrenees
mountains.
