About
the Limousin
Limousin is
often called the land of a thousand lakes and while this may not be 100% true
there are a vast number of lakes in this region with pure clean waters ideal for
swimming,boating and other watery pastimes.
The region is still relatively
unknown and untouched by tourism, so getting away from the masses is something
that is easy to do here. There are however many pretty villages, Chateaux,
fortresses and mediaeval towns set amongst rolling hills, forests, rivers and
lakes
The Capital Limages is world famous for its fine porcelain and enamels.
The city dominated by the Gothic cathedral has the River Vienne running through
its centre.
